Samsung Galaxy Tab to receive Android Updates

Unfortunately that was all they announced leaving us to wonder when these updates will be released. Andoid users out there will just have to sit tight for now sadly.

Since the beginning of November there have been plenty of new and interesting Apps becoming available most of which should be especially interesting for affiliates. So far these apps have unfortunately been only released for iPhones and iPad users. But recently 100partnerprogram, one of the largest German affiliates has dared to make the jump into the mobile age, and instantly ending up with a hit new app. Users of the app can query a database with information on more than 6,000 affiliate programs now from any location and users can even register directly to the respective partner. OpenFeint provides for flood of Android games

While iPhone has been using Openfeint since early 2009, it has only recently become available for Android, being introduced about six weeks ago. OpenFeint working with game developer are able to integrate social functions such as hit-or freinds lists, chat rooms and or forums in their games. 36.2% of all Android devices run with Froyo
04. November 2010 No commentsGoogle has just released new figures in early November for the usage of the various versions of Android. According to the figures, about 36.2% of all smart phones and tablets run on the current version of Android 2.2 also known as Froyo. The number of users currently using Froyo are only slightly behind the version 2.1 which currently about 40% of users currently use. However the number of users for older versions for instance 1.5 or 1.6 are quickly droping, gradually disappearing.

Samsung Galaxy Tab released in UK

While the Samsung Galaxy Tab has been available here in Germany for some time, the inhabitants of the island across the way have had to wait a little longer. But will now finally have the chance to get their hands on the miracle device. The release comes just in time for its 41st birthday, Samsung has released the Galaxy Tab in London, which costs without a contract about 530 pounds over the counter.

Samsung denies rumors of Nexus 2

A few days ago rumors surfaced that Samsung would at a press event on the 8th of November 2010 announce the successor to the Google mobile phone Nexus. Even a photo of new phones showing similar resemblances to Samsung’s flagship Android Galaxy S. had sprung up in website all over the Internet. But now Samsung has formally announced that these rumors are false. It will be interesting to see what Samsung plan to show us at this press event instead.

Android overtakes Blackberry in the U.S.

market reserch firms Canalys and NPD have both recently agreed that the sales of Android phones in the third quarter are greater than that of the Blackberry manufacturer RIM. For RIM, this is a serious blow, as it has so far asserted itself well up till now especially in the U.S. market. But a major advantage Android has over Blackberry is all the new releases that are constantly being churned out. It will be interesting to see how things continue to play out between the two on the North american continent.

PowerAMP hits Android market

PowerAMP, a new music player, is now available through the Android market. Even though it is still in its beta stage it has already left a great impression. It can be used to play all the major music formats. The sound comes through great and it can also be adjusteded to fit the users own listening habits through a huge range of different settings. Visual monotony is also avoided through the use of different types visual themes a user can amuse himself with will listening to their music. Plenty of different widgets and CD artwork are also available for download, rounding out some of the many features that are available in this impressive first look of PowerAMP. We are excited to see what the final product will look like, when the final version is released for purchase.

Google Maps 4.6 for Android released

Effective immediately, the new version of Google Maps is available and is in the Android Market available to download for free. The update to version 4.6 comes along with some improvements and new Features. In particular, the Google Local Business Search Places benefits from the upgrade. The design of the votes has now been adapted to the design of the desktop version. Also, it has enhanced the design for Google Places allowing you to now see reviews from various review websites (such as Reviews or Yelp) whilst still being able to see the opinions have other Google users. And that’s not all: Places queries can now filter by distance, reviews, opening times, neighborhood and similar searches have (so far integrated only in the U.S. version).Initial field tests have already shown that the search for a restaurant or bar in a strange city can be performed significantly more comfortable.Category: Android Apps
