Opera Mobile 10.1 hits Android

As reported by the mobile site Intomobile, Opera will on the 9th of November publish the 10.1 Beta version of its browser for Android. Unlike the already available Mini Opera, which has its own 10.1, which runs on a rendering engine which has no problems at the moment with Javascript and Ajax. Also included in the Beta is a password manager and a speed dial function. It will be interesting to see whether the Opera can compete with their very strong competitors such as the Android browser (including full Flash support), the Dolphin browser and the recently released beta Mozilla Firefox.

Those who now have the new update, will now enjoy a better Android Market, support Flash content and a more stable performance. And the possibilty to now move apps onto the SD card. We hope all Galaxy S users enjoy the beautiful world that is Android 2.2.

HTC Legend to receive Android 2.2 update soon

Manufactures confirming that it will be released in the”coming weeks”. Which is good news for all HTC Legend customers, with the new Android 2.2 providing an entirely new Android feeling.

Google Android developers have spread the message via their Twitter account, that from now on users will be able to immediatly find information on the latest updates for apps on android market. Google also encouraging app developers to make good use of this feature of Twitter. We think this is definitely a very useful new feature, which Google has in the past been criticized for not supporting.

Large Firefox 4 update incoming for Android

Mozilla has now released a new beta version of its Firefox browser for it Android users. The last update it released was more than a month back and Mozilla used the time effictively to make various improvements such as a smaller memory footprint, faster text rendering and a significantly reduced file size. The optics have now also been revised providing a smoother browser feel. To anyone wanting to get a new feel to how the new version is progressing, the Firefox 4 Beta can now be downloaded from the Android market.

Toshiba Folio 100 hits Europe
05. November 2010 No commentsAfter long wait the Toshiba Android Tablet Folio 100 has now hit shelves in Europe. The Android 2.2-powered Tablet has a 10.1″screen and 16GB of storage (can be expanded via a SD card). To go online with the tablet users need to make use of 802.11b WiFi or 3G. The battery life is said to be seven hours long and finally the retail price is between 500 and 650 euros.

Galaxy S update to Android 2.2 launched in UK
05. November 2010 No commentsInhabitants of the island across the way can finally look forward to recieving the new Samsung Galaxy S update to Android 2.2 (Froyo). Samsung announced the happy news over its Twitter account, stating that by the end of November, all Galaxy S smartphones in the UK will be converted to the new Google OS. Now we only hope that the rest of the European countries will follow suit soon.

Springpad App Update eliminates errors

Samsung: 1 million Galaxy articles in 2010

By the end of the year the Group would like to sell at least 1 million Galaxy Tabs. We were positively surprised by the recent amount of interest in Asia and Europe, said a spokesman from Samsung.

New version of the Facebook app for Android

Facebook has just recently relesead a new update for their Andoid application, introducing some new features into the fold. To recieve the new version 1.4 users will have to download it manually from the Android Market. Included in the new updates is Places, which can already be used by smartphones with the Google OS via the Internet. Similar to that of Four Square, users can “check in” in locations all over town and while also being able to see the location of their friends.Category: Android Apps
