EO of the graphics card manufacturer Nvidia, Jen-Hsun Huang, has recently commented on Tegra (the Nvidia processor for smart phones and tablets) as reported by ZDNET. He also had a few words to say on the future of the Android Tablets, painting a very promising picture for all us Android users out there. He then continued to praise the Google Android team members and Andy Rubin for what they have acheived, stating they are building a “magic product”.Category: Android News, Android Tablets

Swype beta update includes new features

he new alternative input-app 8pen yesterday was released, Swype not one to be outdone released yesterday a new update for their beta. Now in its fifth beta, we can only hope they can continue to improve upon the accuracy of the touch pad. Apart from that a few more features have been added,one such feature being the double-Tap-to-Edit feature. If Swype hasnt recognized a word properly the user can double tap, a window then appearing allowing the user to choose the appropriate word. Swype will then automatically jump straight back into the correct position in the text. The voice to text feature, remains however only accessable to users with a QWERTY keyboard until further notice.

Nexus S Pictures leaked

android photos recently appeared of the new Nexus S ( formerly known as the Nexus 2) which appeared briefly on a BestBuy site. The image has since been removed from BestBuy, but the damage has been done with the picture making its round throughout the internet. Meanwhile, Engadget published more pictures of the Nexus S, pictures which were assumably taken a month ago. Where these new photos were taken is not yet known.

Android world number two and growing

udy by IT market research firm Gartner shows that Android in the third quarter this year, was the second most successful smartphone operating system. The Google OS now with 25.5% of the market. Which is amazing as last year the Google OS had only 3.5%. Android is now only sitting behind the Nokia Symbian system with 36.6%. Which is interesting considering last they had over 44%, a result of Android eating its way through the market. The iPhone had to absorb a small loss only dropping from 17.1% to 16.7%.Category: Android News

elopers of 8pen, an with an alternative way of typing input into your Android devices has just been given an update to version 1.1. The most important thing for most users is that its now for free on the Android Market. But apart from the price a number of errors have been removed as well as a updating a few features whilst throwing in some new ones. Including full support for voice input (Android 2.2), a popup with a preview of the input, a new layout them (dark), changes in the auto distance settings, auto spacing now optional and more.

Google TV to come to Android Market

Google has recently confirmed that they are working on intergrating Google TV into the Android Market. Currently the developers are busying themselves with trying to get a good representation of apps onto the bigger Tv screens. Also it is beleived that many 3rd party developers are optimizing their apps for Google TV in the future. The Android browser should also receive a reworking to do surfing on the television to make it as comfortable and to run as smooth as possible.

The new phone from Sony Ericsson?

On the Xperia X10 blog recently, a picture of a new smartphone from Sony Ericsson. Could it be perhaps Anzu? The Anzu is supposed to be released in 2011, operating on the Android 2.3 ( Gingerbread) complete with a 4.3 “display and HDMI output. It is also supposed to be very thin. IP Germany, has just published an evaluation of a mobile advertising campaign that was conducted for the film “Salt,” which were run on among others the iPhone app RTL. In the survey IP Germany questioned 160 RTL app users. Approximatly 69% of the questioned users of RTL know the film, one in four remembering the in-app-campaign for the film.Category: Mobile Marketing

Skype updated Android App

Today Skype has released a new version of its Android app for free onto the Android Market. Since the publication of their first version of the app, they have recieved plenty of criticism over its stability. Thus in this new version they have listened to what users have said and have fixed most of the errors that were present in the last version. However there are already several statements from Samsung mobile phone users saying they are having problems logging in. Lets see how the matter will develop in the coming days.
