The developers of Angry Birds, one of the most popular games currently on the Android Market, have announceed a new version for Valentine’s Day in 2011. Proving the rumors circulating that a new update was to be released in February next year. All those fans out there who have been playing the Christmas edition of Angry Birds will be glad to hear that the wait is not so long before the next serving of Angry Birds goes live.

Google has recently released a new 2.5 minute video on their YouTube channel of the new Nexus S running the new Google Maps. You can see that it is now possible to see 3D buildings in Google maps in the promotional video. We here at 24android are pretty impressed with the new features in the update to Google Maps 5, and we hope we all can get to play with this new update soon.

The new version 2.3.2 helps the user filter out the more important emails from all the other garbage that arrives in your Inbox, therefore helping users save time when having to plow through their Inbox. The sorted emails will then be sorted into the “Priority Inbox” and then from there the user can choose to do what he wishes with the emials whether it be archive or delete them ( just like the desktop version). Other features that are only included on the desktop version are should be integrated in future updates.

In almost three weeks after LG announced the LG Optimus One they reached the one million sales mark, but now they have jumped another hurdle and reached the 2 million sales mark. It only took 60 days to reach 2 million sales. These numbers probably helped LG into deciding that they would upgrade the Optimus to Android 2.3 after previously stating they wouldnt be doing an upgrade.

Yesterday LG announced over its Facebook page that they would not be updating the LG Optimus One and the LG Chic to Android 2.3 due to their low processor speed. But today have completely turned head over tail and have officially announced that both will be recieving the update in the future. LG definatly dont make it easy on us users but at least we got the results we wanted in the end.

The Indian subsidiary of Samsung has now confirmed via their Twitter account that buyers of the Samsung S Galaxy will be able to look forward to a update to Android 2.3(Gingerbread). Its good news as only yesterday Samsung were not sure whether they would do the update. When the update will land is not certain, especially as there are plenty of people out there still waiting for Android 2.2 (Froyo).

YouTube is one of the most popular Android Apps from Google and one of the most downloaded apps in general. And now it has recieved another update. In its newest version, it is possible for the first time to look at comments from other users or add a comment, while the video plays. To make use of this new function however, users will need to have at least Android 2.2(Froyo) on their smartphone or tablet installed.

The flood of  Android updates recently also touchs down on some older generations of smartphones. This time the its not Android 2.3(Ginger Bread) but the not so old Android 2.2(Froyo). The HTC Legend will recieving the update on the 12/09/2010 to Froyo. Though all the buzz has been about Gingerbread recently we know that HTC Legend users have been waiting a while for this update. While Samsung has not yet decided on whether or not they will update their flagship smartphone the Galaxy S to Android 2.3, HTC has already on the other hand announced an update for the HTC Desire HD. It also looks like the HTC Desire and the HTC Z will also be eventually recieving the new Google OS.
