Android Ads to make in 2012 over $ 1 billion

According to Gene Munster, an analyst from the U.S. investment banking firm Piper Jaffray & Co. Android advertising revenues will in 2012 already be over $ 1 billion. Currently the advertising revenue per Android user is at about $5.90 per year, but by 2012 that could reach up to $9.85. Munster also expects an increase in the number of Android users during the same period of time by around 133 million users. If this all panes out the way he has predicted advertising revenues will be up at around 1.3 billion dollars.

Motorola Flipout gets no more Android Updates

in that Motorola will not be updating the device to any newer versions of the Android OS. Users of the little flamboyant little phone will be have to make do with Android 2.1 (Eclair). But hopefully we see Motorola keeping their smartphones more up to date with their next generation of smartphones such as the Motorola Cliq 2 and the Motorola Atrix.

HTC Wildfire 2 Spotted in Official Advert?

HTC have added a new video to their YouTube account called HTC Innovation which shows off a number of different HTC smartphones in different situations. But one particular smartphone caught our eye. As reported by the U.S. website Android Central the shape of the device is reminiscent to that of the HTC Wildfire. Could this smartphone perhaps be the HTC Wildfire 2? Or is it a completely different smartphone? We will just have to wait and see, the MWC is less than a week away. Hopefully we’ll get some answers then.Category: Android Phones, HTC

Archos Tablets:22% Market Share in France

The French market research company GfK has found in a study that the French Android Tablet provider Archos has currently 22% of the tablet market share in France. Archos have released tablets such as the Archos 10.1 Internet Tablet and the Archos 7 Home Tablet. The Archos news site ArchosFans stated over their website that if the availability of the tablets had been improved the tablet provider could have reached an even greater market share, perhaps they can remedy this for future releases.

HTC to Unveil Something Big at MWC

Another big announcement for MWC as HTC posted on their Facebook page that “Big things are happening stay tuned”. The post comes with a timer counting down to the MWC, which starts on the 14th of February in Barcelona. HTC join a host of manufacturers planning to release something big at the MWC this year. But as for HTC’s big annoouncement, we’re assuming that HTC will unveil the HTC Flyer, the first Android Tablet by HTC. Fingers crossed!

LG Optimus 3D Teaser Video Leaked

A short video teasing at the new LG Optimus 3D, which is to be unvieled at the Mobile World Congress this month, has been leaked. The video clip first made its appearance on the U.S. website Pocket-Lint. In the video the hardware design of the phone looks very similar to that of the new LG Optimus 2x. We look forward to hearing more about the smartphone during the MWC next week.

YourVersion Newsreader gets Tablet Version

For those who don’t know YourVersion, it is a free news reader app. The user specifies his interests such as sport, music or art and the app provides news which matches your interests from various news sources. The articles can then be placed on Facebook or Twitter to share them with your friends. Angry Birds gets Valentine’s Day Update

Yesterday the Valentine’s Day version of Angry Birds was released onto the Android Market. The announcement came several weeks ago that a Valentine’s Edition would be released and now it’s finally here! This is not a new app but a update for the Angry Birds Seasons which came out 01 December 2010. Those who love Angry Birds will be pleased to see more Angry Birds action, but sadly this time the Valentine’s Day version of the Angry Birds did not make our list of the Best Valentine’s Day Apps for Android. New Motorola Xoom Commercial

Motorola have released a commercial for their upcoming Android tablet the Motorola Xoom. The commercial was shown during the 45th Super Bowl and it pokes a little fun at Apple (see below). Official: Sony Ericsson confirm Xperia PLAY

Over the last few weeks it has become obvious with the leaked photos, commercials and several people getting their hands on the phone itself, that Sony Ericsson planned to announce a Playstation phone called Xperia PLAY. But now they have officially confirmed that they will reveal the phone at the Mobile World Congress this month. On the 13/02/2011 at 6pm the cat will finally be let out of the bag.
