  • LG Optimus 2x sells 250,000 in 1 Month

    11. April 2011 No comments

LG Optimus Speed P990 Android SmartphoneLG released a little while ago the world’s first dual core Android smartphone, the LG Optimus 2x, with it hitting the markets hard in South Korea where it was first released, selling more than 250,000  units in the first month alone. According to UK the distributor, pent up demand for the LG Optimus 2x was so high they sold out on launch day. Not to shabby for a brand who has been struggling to keep up with some of its competition such as Samsung and HTC. Hopefully these numbers increase as the smartphone is rolled out to other countries, with the India and U.S. launch imminent.

    07. April 2011 No comments

Dell Streak 10According to the U.S. buisness magazine Forbes Dell are planning to release a 10 inch Android tablet this summer onto the U.S. market. The 10 inch tablet which made a short appearance at the CES in Las Vegas this year is similar to that of its 7 inch counterpart whilst supposedly running on Android 3.0. Most beleive the tablet will be similiar to its other Honeycomb tablet counterparts in that it will be running on a dual-core processor, all of these specifications are just assumptions as Dell have yet to officially announce the device, however these specs seem rather likely. A release date for Europe is also rumored not to be set just yet.

  • Motorola Xoom: Around 100,000 Sold

    07. April 2011 No comments

Motorola Xoom Android TabletAn analyst from Deutsche Bank has projected that the first Android tablet to have Android 3.0 the Motorola Xoom since being released onto the U.S. market 2 months ago, has sold around 100,000 units. Currently there are discussions going on all over the net whether this figure is good or bad, considering that the Motorola Xoom is the first Honeycomb tablet to be released onto the market. As the German banking analyst has reported Motorola have sold around 50,000 units per month. Though this isn’t necessarily a small figure it definitly seems to be lagging behind the sales numbers of the iPad 2. The Motorola Xoom is set to be released in Europe later this month and unlike in the U.S. it will not be the first Honeycomb tablet to be released in Europe, with the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer being just released in the UK.
