Sony Ericsson has come out and announced that they will be providing an updating to a more current version of Gingerbread 2.3.3 for their Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY and Sony Ericsson Xperia arc smartphones. As reported by Recombu, the update will also include certain Facebook features more deeply integrated into the users smartphone. After these two phones recieve the update it is believed the Sony Ericsson Xperia mini and the Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro will also recieve the update.

Sony has recently posted up two new videos on their YouTube channel officially announcing the Sony Ericsson Xperia mini and the Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro, also giving a closer look at the phone for the first time officially. Both videos are just under 3 minutes long giving some insight to buyers on what they can expect from the device when it’s released.

Reports of the upcoming Motorola Milestone 3 have popped up again with them pointing out that the device will most liekly have a 4.0 inch QHD screen with a resolution of around 540 x 960 pixels. The device is also said to have a 8.0 megapixel camera and an additional 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video phone calls. New reports confirm the new smartphone will have a dual core processor but as for which one just yet is still not set in stone, reports link the phone to either the NVIDIA Tegra 2 or the Texas Instruments OMAP443. The faster data transmission standard LTE is said not tp be supported.

Google recently launched the Google Movie portion of their Android Market in the U.S. Google have now come out and sstated that they will not be giving devices that have been rooted access to this part of the market, forcing users to have to use a non-rooted device to be able to make use of their movie rental market. According to Google, they were forced to make this decision due to infringment of copyright issues.

Recently there has been reports of a new Android 3.0 tablet from HTC in the works which goes by the name HTC Puccini. New reports have the 10 inch tablet from HTC with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, the latest version of Honeycomb (Android 3.1) and a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Apperantly the HTC Puccini will have stylus support like the HTC Flyer.

Last week Samsung started to roll out an update to Android 2.3 to Samsung Galaxy Tab owners, and now Samsung has come out and announced that they will be rolling out the update to countries world wide around mid May this year. As reported by Engadget not only will Samsung be releasing the update to the Samsung Galaxy Tab but will also be releasing the update for the Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy Gio, Samsung Galaxy Mini, the Galaxy Ace and the Samsung Galaxy Fit.

A while ago some supposed pictures of the new Motorola Milestone smartphone, the Mototola Milestone 3 found its way onto the Internet, now the website Planet Android has recently stated that the new device will come with a 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 Dual Core Processor. The popular notepad app Springpad has recently recieved an update to version 2.2. The update is a great addition for those of you out there who use a tablet device with the update increasing the screen size on tablets. In addition a new menu has been introduced where users can quickly access key functions of the application. Springpad can be downloaded for free from the Android Market.

Samsung has come out recently and announced that their new Samsung Galaxy S 2 already more than 3 million pre-orders from various carriers around the world. Which makes it one of the most pre-ordered Samsung products to date. As reported by Samsung Hub, the device is currently already available in South Korea and in the United Kingdom. The Samsung Galaxy S 2 is set to roll out to a further 120 countries through 140 different phone carriers over the course of this year.

Once again HTC have shown that they are the front-runners in keeping their Android devices updated, with the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Incredible S updates to Android 2.3 going live today. Both devices will finally get all of the new features thats comes with Gingerbread. HTC plans to roll out more updates to more of their devices soon.
