HTC has confirmed that the HTC Desire series of smartphones will be recieving an update to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) later this year. However users may have to wait a little as the update is not scheduled until after the release of the new HTC Desire S which was just recently unveiled at the Mobile World Congress. The HTC Desire HD and the HTC Desire Z will be recieving the update first with owners of the HTC Desire having to wait a little longer than the others.
