Today, nearly 90% of all Android devices run on a Android version 2.x. As reported by Googles Android Developers Blog. Froyo or Android 2.2 is running on the most smartphones with 57.6% of all smartphones and tablets. In second place is Android 2.1 otherwise known as Eclair with 31.4%. The most recent Android OS, Android 2.3 or Gingerbread is at the moment only at 0.8%. Some of the older versions of the OS that are being faded out such as Android 1.6 (Donut), is on 6.3% and Android 1.5 (Cupcake)  is only at 3.9%.
