    Idea VaultDescription

Because applications used for storing tasks, ideas, etc. are among the most popular apps on the Android Market it’s obvious that plenty of apps want to offer these services. Thus there are alot of notepad type apps out there and only a few can standout from the larger group. One such app is Idea Vault, lets have a closer look.

    Functions & Design

Idea Vault is a notepad application which can store ideas in the form of text, images and voice recordings. Users can go back whenever they want and delete said notes if they wish. Idea Vault also includes a backup feature that allows users to backup all their notes onto their SD card.

Their is also a search function provided to help users retrieve stored notes. And through the settings menu there are various settings the user can adjust to optimise his or her experience with the application. Such as setting up categories and ordering them and more importantly enabling password protection for the app itself, keeping all of your notes away from prying eyes.

When creating a note the user will have to select the category he wishes the note to be under then give the note a titel then write the contents of the note, it’s that simple. Afterwards the note will appear in the overview, making it easier to find the note later. The user can also of course come back later and add pictures or voice files to the note or just edit the the text currently there in the note.

The developers of Idea Vault have also provided users with the ability to add a widget of this app on their home screen, so that users can easily on the go add a note with a single finger tap. There is a widget for each of the three input forms text, image and voice.

    Conclusion

Idea Vault does alot of things right, but it is not without its faults. A rather big let down is the fact there is no synchronization feature to sync with Google. The integrated backup to the SD card works perfectly, but it would be nice to be able to have other devices have direct access to the ideas as well, like some other notepad apps do. Also being able to pause while making a voice recording would also be a good addition. Hopefully the developers can address some of these issues in a future update. Idea Vault was tested in version 2.0.
