Calendr is part of a trend of apps being released that are minimalistic agenda apps/widgets. Which are becoming increasingly popular, with more and more people wanting to keep their homescreen neat and tidy. Now its great if it looks good and doesn’t take up much space but is the app itself actually useful? Well lets take a look.
Functions & Design
The Calendr widget for Android comes in a standard size of 4 x 1 (four columns by one row). The widget itself will always display the next event you have on your calendar, but it can only show events within the next week. (UPDATE: can now show appointments beyond the one week)
Through the settings menu, users can tinker with the background of the widget, whether it’s semi-transparent or not, as well as the alignment of the text (left, center or right). Users can add a shadow effect, edit how the event and date is displayed, through various settings such as Font, Font size, alternating text colours, 24 hour format or whether or not to display the day of the week, date, month and time.
This is not the most practical app for someone who has regular appointments, for example someone who needed a calendar app for work or their studies, then we would recommend using another app ( Best Calendar Widgets for Android). But for someone who just needs a little reminder every now and then for something that is coming up and at the same time they want to keep their homescreen clean, then Calendr is perfect. With its cool design and the fact that it’s free to download, for the right person it really can be the perfect app. We tested Calendr version 1.4.
