  • Quick Pic (Picture Folder)

    Description

One of the best things about smartphones and tablets these days is the ability to carry around important photos making it easier to show friends and family pictures thus sharing some of those experiences with them. There are a few apps out there which catalogue the users pictures into a library, helping organize those pictures when the occasion arises to tell ”that story again”. One such app is as the name suggests Picture Folder.

    Functions & Design

Picture Folder is a slim, folder-based gallery app, focusing on one task creating a library of your pictures, users then being able to show off the pictures within as they will. After starting up the application users will be shown an overview of their picture folders the app showing a preview of photos from within each folder (some folders may be hidden if desired). With a simple tap with their finger the user can choose which folder to access, wherein a list of the photos will appear.

The user can then select from the list a picture to have a closer look at. From there they are able to zoom in on the picture, the user can view a create a automatic slidshow, or the pictures can be set as a wallpaper or be shared with friends or family via email or store it in drop box, etc. If the pictures are saved as a geodata image file, photos of locations can then be found on Google Maps. Throughout our test the app run relatively smoothly and we didn’t have any troubles with the app crashing.

    Conclusion

Whoever is searching for a simple app to store and view their photos through, really carnt go wrong with Picture Folder. If users also want to access their friends pictures on Facebook or Picasa then other picture gallery apps are probably better, for instance, JustPictures!. What Picture Folder aims to do, that being a simple to use photo gallery, then we would say it hit the nail on the head. Picture Folder can be downloaded for free from the Android Market. We tested version 0.4.
