Western Games haven’t really been in great demand for some time, but then all of a sudden you have a blockbuster of a game come through like Red Dead Redemption on the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Sony PlayStation 3 and it shoots juice into the whole genre, making hungry for the wild west. Then pops up Guns’n'Glory, a Western adventure for Android devices. Is it time to grab your Colts again or is this just another Tumbleweed to blow by? Lets have a look.
Functions & Design
Guns’n'Glory is a tower defense game. Players assume the roles of a bandit who wants to prevent settlers from getting through the canyon where you have set up your trap, so you can steal all their money. As top dog you have to organize your bandits into position so they can stop all the settlers, so they carn’t get the Sheriff and if that happens you have to start the level over again.
It becomes increasingly difficult to stop all the settlers passing through your canyon as more and more settlers come on horseback or aboard a stagecoach. You will have to hire more cronies along the way to stop them all in time and steal their gold.
Various bandits can be hired each with their own skill set. There are also sometimes bonuses on the map the player can find to help his men steal all the gold they can.
When playing through the game, you will notice a big star in the middle of the screen with a number in it. That number is the amount of settlers who can escape before the Sheriff comes and hauls you into jail. There is a total of 20 levels that are all great fun to play through. There are still some unplayable levels meaning there will be an update from the developers in the future unlocking more levels for users to play.
This great Western tower defence game is a great addition to the Android Market. The fact that you can move your bandits around the map, sets Guns’n'Glory apart from other tower defense games out there. If your not so sure about getting Guns’n'Glory, there is a free version with advertisements, available for download from the Android Market. Guns’n'Glory is a very fun and addictive little game, we recommend you give it a go. Tested Guns’n'Glory version 1.4.2.
